Walk Through History on New Port Richey’s Tides of Time Art Walk

History is not tucked away behind museum glass in downtown New Port Richey. It is waiting around corners, mounted on historic buildings, and woven into the streets visitors walk every day.
The Tides of Time Art Walk is a permanent, self-guided public art experience that invites visitors to explore New Port Richey’s past through 11 miniature bronze sculptures installed throughout the historic downtown district. Created in celebration of the city’s 100th anniversary, the walk combines art, architecture, technology, and local history into one unforgettable downtown adventure.
A Centennial Celebration Cast in Bronze
Presented by New Port Richey Main Street in partnership with the City of New Port Richey, Tides of Time officially opened in June 2025. The project was created by St. Petersburg artist Gillian Harper, whose sculptures celebrate the landmarks, people, and stories that shaped the city.
Each bronze sculpture measures approximately 8 to 10 inches and was designed specifically for its location. Harper incorporated details inspired by the history and architecture of New Port Richey, including Art Deco influences that recall the city’s growth during the early 20th century.
These may be miniature works of art, but the stories behind them are anything but small.
Art, History, and a Little Technology
Each Tides of Time sculpture is accompanied by a QR code. Scan it with your phone to unlock a digital experience featuring the history of the building, information about the artwork, and recognition of the community investors who helped make the project possible.
It turns a simple walk through downtown into an interactive journey through New Port Richey’s first century.
Visitors can explore all 11 locations:
- Sims Park
- The Hacienda
- First State Bank
- Chasco Inn
- Burnette Arcade
- Administration Triplex
- New Port Richey Land Company
- Pasco Building
- Morey-Bowman Building
- Leeston-Smith Building
- Richey Suncoast Theatre
The route leads guests past some of downtown’s most recognizable landmarks while introducing buildings they may have walked by many times without knowing the stories held inside their walls.
Find a Piece of Tides of Time at The Hacienda
The Hacienda is proud to be one of the historic landmarks represented along the Tides of Time Art Walk.
Opened in 1927, our pink Spanish Revival landmark welcomed visitors during New Port Richey’s celebrated “Hollywood East” era. Silent film stars, entertainers, community leaders, and travelers all became part of The Hacienda’s story.
Today, following a complete restoration and reopening in 2022, The Hacienda is once again welcoming guests to experience historic New Port Richey. Finding our Tides of Time sculpture is a wonderful way to begin exploring the hotel’s connection to the city and the people who helped shape its past.
Visitors are always welcome to step inside, look around the lobby, and enjoy breakfast, lunch, dinner, brunch, or cocktails at Sasha’s on the Park.
Make a Day of Exploring Downtown New Port Richey
